Altieri Dilgo Geisha - Extremely Limited

$54.00

This coffee is only available as a Whole Bean, 4oz bag.

Hands down, this is the most exceptional coffee we have ever tasted. While many coffees use the Gesha (or Geisha) label, the Panamanian Geisha stands out for its distinct genetic and flavor profile.

This Geisha from Altieri Specialty Coffee stands out for its juicy, fruit-forward palette and intense sweetness. The balance of acidity and sweetness is gorgeous, candy-like, even reminding us of sour gummy worms, combining all of the fruitiness into a complex and unique profile. This Geisha delivers a remarkably smooth, intense cup with a silky mouthfeel and mouthwatering finish.

Alteiri Specialty Coffee, as a producer, has also just been awarded 1st Place in the Best of Panama competition for non-Geisha varietals in 2026, a feat absolutely worth celebrating!

We have found that this coffee tastes best after an extended rest period beyond its roast date. For us, we have found the best time to start enjoying this coffee is roughly 21 days after the roast date, with the sweet spot being between 30 and 45 days. This allows the coffee ample time to degas, so that some of the intensity of the coffee can be rounded off and offer a more complex and enjoyable drinking experience.

Please note: this coffee does not qualify for discounts.

MORE ABOUT THIS COFFEE AND ALTIERI SPECIALTY COFFEE

Altieri Specialty Coffee is a family-owned producer in Boquete, Panama, that consistently places in the Best of Panama coffee competitions. Eugene Altieri founded Altieri Specialty Coffee after purchasing the land for an ice manufacturing business in 2005, which was then replanted with Geisha, Typica, Caturra, and Catuai varietals without realizing their potential in specialty coffee. In 2014, Altieri Specialty Coffee began placing in Best of Panama competitions, and this year (2026) received a first-place award for the highest-scoring non-Geisha varietal grown in Panama.

This specific coffee was grown on the Dilgo plot, named after a grandchild of the founder (a theme that Altieri Coffee follows with all of their plots of land where coffee is grown). The Dilgo plot is located within Mima Estate and is a small plateau next to the Volcán Barú National Park, where the coffee grows under cultivated shade from Guavas and Cedars at 60% coverage.
