El Indio

from $12.00

Limited Valentine’s Day label with hearts this weekend only!

This is our second year with El Indio, and this crop is somehow even better than the last.

This naturally processed coffee from Colombia has a cherry candy sweetness akin to red starburst, and a sense of depth and complexity that reminds us of a bright red wine. The mouthfeel is weighty like syrup, with a finish like cacao nibs (something we find with a lot of coffees a bit on the wild side).

What’s not to love?

MORE ABOUT THIS COFFEE
This coffee is grown by members of ASOPEP, an association of 160+ coffee-growing families in Planadas, Tolima. Committed to quality and environmental sustainability, ASOPEP's coffee has consistently represented the Tolima region in the Cup of Excellence and other national competitions over the last 12 years. This particular coffee is naturally processed and dried at ASOPEP's communal drying station, where cherries are hand-sorted, and dried on temperature controlled raised beds.

ASOPEP was born in response to the felt need to organize a way of relating between the 167 members of an association with several objectives: commercialize their own coffee production, form their own form of government and design their own farm conservation model to guarantee resources to future generations.

SHIPPING: We ship orders Monday - Friday. Order cutoff is 11:59pm to be shipped the NEXT shipping day. If you ever feel your coffee is not fresh enough, just let us know and we’ll replace it.

Domestic shipping is free for orders of $50 or more. Otherwise, it is a $7.50 flat rate anywhere in the US. We ship everything via UPS Ground.

NOTES ON GRINDING: If you choose “French Press” grind, expect it to be finer than usual, so you’re guaranteed good extraction. Some ultra fine coffee particles will make it through the screen and create a flavorful, albeit slightly opaque cup. In other words, we choose flavor over aesthetics. If you want to keep your cup looking cleaner, choose a pour over grind.

If you don’t see your preferred grind in the options then simply let us know in the notes section at checkout and we’d be happy to grind it for your favorite brewing method.
